Community Boating Center (CBC) has announced that it will host the Freedom Schooner Amistad, September 8-11 at India Point Park in Providence.

Sponsored by The City of Providence, and run by AMISTAD America, Inc., the 81’ re-creation of the famous vessel of the Amistad incident of 1839, will be open to the public from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday 9/10 and Sunday 9/11. Admission is free of charge, but AMISTAD America will be accepting donations to help the organization continue its educational mission.

John O’Flaherty, Executive Director of CBC, commented “We are honored for the opportunity to offer the Providence community access to this significant touchstone of American and maritime history.”
