Community Boating Center (CBC) has announced the “Chairperson’s Challenge” fundraising initiative to support it’s inner-city youth outreach sailing programs.

Implemented by CBC’s governing Chairperson, this unique drive challenges members, supporters, and friends of CBC to donate $1000 to support youth outreach efforts in the Providence, RI area.

Donors will be recognized with a customized brass nameplate mounted to a classic Adirondack Chair on CBC's waterfront deck. Individual donor’s chairs will serve as a warm welcome and guaranteed seat for you to enjoy the waterfront and view ongoing sailing activities.

John O’Flaherty, Executive Director of CBC commented, “Your $1000 donation helps ensure an exciting summer of sailing for deserving youth — and a relaxing seat on the waterfront to see the impact that Community Boating is having on Providence’s waterfront revival. ”

Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail. Located in India Point Park, CBC provides outreach, sailing lessons, and affordable access to the Providence waterfront. Gifts of cash or property to CBC may be treated as charitable donations for Federal Tax purposes.
