COMMUNITY BOATING CENTER RAISES OVER $7000 AT WINTER EVENT

THANK YOU FOR SHARING A SPECIAL JOURNEY TO THE STUNNING, DESOLATE EDGE OF ANTARCTICA WITH ONNE VAN DER WAL — AN EXPEDITION TO SOUTH GEORGIA ISLAND

Renowned yachting and adventure photographer, Onne van der Wal, recently presented a slide show exploring the images taken during his five week expedition to the island of South Georgia off Antarctica.

Onne and the crew of the 88' sloop “Shaman” retraced the steps of the famed pole explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton. Experiencing the beauty of Antarctic wildlife, Onne captured amazing images of the island’s populations of Wandering Albatross, King Penguin, Chin Strap Penguins, as well as monstrous Sea Lion and Reindeer.

This special presentation benefiting Community Boating Center’s youth sailing programs was hosted by Paul Cuffee School, a maritime charter school for Providence children.

Thank you for sharing the adventure and supporting Community Boating — Plus a portion of proceeds will be dedicated toward sailing scholarships for Paul Cuffee School students.

Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail.
