COMMUNITY BOATING CENTER PARTNERS WITH
PROVIDENCE BOAT SHOW TO SUPPORT YOUTH BOATING PROGRAMS

TICKET SALE PARTIAL PROCEEDS FOR SATURDAY 1/5/08 TO SUPPORT YOUTH BOATING

Community Boating Center (CBC) has announced an exciting opportunity for RI boaters to help support youth boating by visiting the Providence Boat Show on Saturday, 1/5/08.

Partnering with the Providence Boat Show’s management team, CBC hopes to evoke the passion of Ocean State boaters in fostering the growth of CBC’s non-profit youth boating programs for everyone. Partial proceeds from ticket sales on Saturday, 1/5/08 will be donated by the Providence Boat Show to CBC in support of Community Boating youth maritime initiatives.

CBC will also award a $20 discount coupon for any multi-day, youth or adult learn-to-sail class to all visitors to CBC booth 745 on the upper deck of the Convention Center. Additionally, CBC will provide details on it’s programs and NEW keelboats. The new 22’ boats will allow CBC to further grow its youth and adult learn-to-sail programs with a safe, stable, and fun design providing increased comfort in introducing new sailors to the sport. They feature unsinkable construction, a stable “non-tippy” hull, and a comfortable layout with a large passenger capacity.

Details on CBC’s “Renaissance Regatta”, a corporate benefit event featuring teams of CBC youth and adult sponsors working together in a series of fun challenges and races will also be available. The annual regatta is followed by a silent auction all in support of CBC youth outreach initiatives.

John O’Flaherty, Executive Director of CBC commented, “We are delighted at the generosity of the Providence Boat Show for this wonderful opportunity. Community Boating is excited to continue to serve as a gateway to Narragansett Bay in introducing boating to the people of the Ocean State.”

Community Boating Center (CBC) is a nonprofit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to enjoy boating. Located in India Point Park, CBC provides youth outreach, sailing lessons and affordable access to the Providence waterfront. Gifts of cash or property to CBC may be treated as charitable donations for Federal Tax purposes.
