CBC EXHIBITS AT 2015 PROVIDENCE BOAT SHOW — 1/23 - 1/25
AT THE RHODE ISLAND CONVENTION CENTER
New England Boating Experience Hub Highlights Small Boat Opportunities
Community Boating Center (CBC) has partnered with the Providence Boat Show, purchased by the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association (RIMTA) last fall, to help bring a fresh perspective and new attractions to this annual happening.
A new hub of the show for small-boat enthusiasts is the “New England Boating Experience,” where showgoers can learn about all the ways you can go boating in our region — from simple and affordable, to high-speed and high-tech. Thanks to New England Boating, owners and producers of the NESN television show and magazine, it’s all coming your way at this new section of the show.
Think sailing is just for water? Learn about wind-powered skiing with a Kitewing sail. Visit with the Providence Community Boating Center to learn how easy it is to get on the water. Check out all the latest gear from Helly Hansen. Surf on dry land with instructors from FloorTime Studios, or talk to the small-boat experts at Laser Performance and Zim Sailing. There is even a green screen for free photo fun. Surf a big wave or set sail with a Volvo Ocean Race team.
Partnering with the Providence Boat Show’s new management team, CBC hopes to evoke the passion of Ocean State boaters in fostering the growth of CBC’s and other local non-profit youth boating programs for everyone.
Mini, Daily Seminars at the CBC Booth:
CBC will also award a $20 discount coupon for any multi-day, youth or adult learn-to-sail class to all visitors to the “New England Boating Experience” on the upper deck of the show. Additionally, CBC will provide details on its programs and boats from kayaks to keelboats. CBC features a wide range of small boats that has enabled significant growth in youth and adult learn-to-sail programs with safe, stable, and fun designs providing increased comfort in introducing new sailors to the sport.
Details on CBC’s “Renaissance Regatta”, a corporate benefit event featuring teams of CBC youth and adult sponsors working together in a series of fun challenges and races will also be available. The annual regatta is followed by a silent auction all in support of CBC youth outreach initiatives.
John O’Flaherty, Executive Director of CBC commented, “We are delighted to be part of the “New England Boating Experience” at the Providence Boat Show and for this wonderful opportunity. Community Boating is excited to continue to serve as a gateway to Narragansett Bay in introducing boating to the people of the Ocean State.”
Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail.
