COMMUNITY BOATING CENTER HOSTS 2004 RENAISSANCE REGATTA

Community Boating Center (CBC) has announced that it hosted it's fifth annual Renaissance Regatta August 14, 2004 at the Harry Carr Memorial Boathouse at Providence's India Point Park.

CBC received many applications for the regatta's "Corporate Challenge" format in which local organizations sponsor teams of employee-sailors in a series of small sailboat races. All sponsorship proceeds benefit CBC's inner city youth outreach programs including the "Mayor's Cup" in which youth participants from CBC compete against one another as part of the regatta's line-up.

Peter Gengler, President of CBC commented, "Community Boating Center is proud to capitalize on the collaborative spirit of it's donors, volunteers, members and youth outreach participants to establish an important community link to the Providence waterfront and Narragansett Bay."

Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail. Located in India Point Park, CBC provides outreach, sailing lessons and affordable access to the Providence waterfront. Gifts of cash or property to CBC may be treated as charitable donations for Federal Tax purposes.
