Community Boating Center (CBC) has announced that it raised over $50K in the 2005 Renaissance Regatta, a benefit event to support youth outreach initiatives.

The annual event featured teams of CBC youth and adult sponsors racing together in a series of challenges including sailboat rigging races, skipper-switching legs, life jacket pickup drills, and modified triangle courses designed for a fun and engaging day on the water. The racing was followed by a silent auction and catered party to celebrate the diversity and success of CBC programs.

CBC offers special thanks to the event’s top level “Admiral” sponsors including: Citizens Bank, Banc of America Securities, H. Carr & Sons, Florida Power & Light, and JP Morgan for their generous support. Additional recognition goes to Hinckley, Allen, & Snyder LLP for taking first place in the racing.

John O’Flaherty, Executive Director of CBC, commented “We are both grateful and energized by the fantastic level of support from our sponsors, volunteers, members, and friends of CBC who have enabled our continued success in bringing sailing to everyone.”

Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail. Located in India Point Park, CBC provides outreach, sailing lessons and affordable access to the Providence waterfront. Gifts of cash or property to CBC may be treated as charitable donations for Federal Tax purposes.
